NO kings 3 March

Saturday, March 28th we will host the No Kings 3 march in Tucker, GA.  From 3 – 6 pm.  The Northlake Festival Shopping Center will be the assembly point, on LaVista Rd. We chose the 3 – 6 pm timeframe to allow people to participate in the Atlanta No Kings march which is scheduled from 12 noon – 2 pm.  This is expected to be our largest march so far.  The last No Kings march in June 2025 was our largest march to date.  We had approximately 15,000 people in attendance.  We are expecting as many as 30,000 people at the No Kings 3 march.  As usual we will work closely with the DeKalb County Police Department to establish a plan to keep traffic flowing and allow march participants to march safely and cross the streets safely.  We are expanding the route to accommodate the larger crowd.  A map of the new route is pictured at the top of this newsletter.  We are asking for additional volunteers to assist as crossing guards and hydration station attendants.  The DeKalb County Police Department has suggested that we hire additional security by engaging the services of off duty police officers to supplement the officers provided by the DCPD.  The cost of the additional security is expected to be $2,500.00.  Please, visit our donations page to donate to the funds for the additional security.  We are also asking for additional volunteers for the march.  Please email: cconrado@pocketbookbrigade.org to sign up as a volunteer.

The Route for the No Kings 3 march on March 28th from 3 - 6 pm is attached to this post. Northlake Festival Shopping Center will be the landmark / rally point. We will begin our march at the intersection of Henderson Mill Rd and LaVista Rd. If you park at the Northlake Festival Shopping center please show your appreciation for the support of the stores and restaurants in the shopping center by patronizing their establishments before or after the march. Also please, park in the center parking spaces of the parking lot and avoid parking in front of the Goodwill store. Parking near Londzell’s or where the Toy R US store once was would be respectful to the tenants of the shopping center. Jason’s Deli has offered us the use of their restrooms. Lonzell’s Performing Arts Center is allowing us to set up our headquarters in the corner of the shopping center in the vicinity of the entrance to their establishment, in exchange for advertising their establishment in our newsletter and any other media we utilize to promote the march.

We will exit the shopping center at the:

·    Henderson Mill Rd exit

·    turn right onto La Vista Rd and march past Chick Fil A

·    cross the I-285 overpass

·    cross LaVista Rd at Northlake Parkway

·    turn left onto LaVista and proceed to Parklake Dr NE turn right at Parklake Dr NE

·    turn left on Northlake Pkwy, proceed to the intersection of Northlake Pkwy & Henderson Mill Rd

·    turn left on Henderson Mill Rd

·    merge left onto Briarcliff Rd

·    turn right onto Henderson Mill Rd

·    the march terminates at the intersection of Henderson Mill Rd and LaVista Rd.

We have lengthen the march route in order to accommodate the large crowd we are expecting for the No Kings 3 march on March 28, 2026. We will be crossing intersections with the use of traffic signals and with the assistance of Pocketbook Brigade, Inc. crossing guards.

This is a peaceful protest. No violent or vulgar behavior will be tolerated. Bring appropriate signs—we will have some supplies for marchers to make signs.

We will have a sympathy banner / card for Minneapolis, MN, Savannah, Ga and San Antonio to show sympathy for the loss of Renee Good, Alex Pretti and Dr. Linda Davis and Ruben Ray Martinez at the hands of ICE agents. Email conrado@pocketbookbrigade.org if your church, synagogue, masque, club or group of people would like to sign the sympathy banner / card. We are happy to bring the banners to them. The banners will be delivered to each city on behalf of the people of the Atlanta metro area to show them our support any sympathy.

The Pocketbook Brigade’s Commitment to Safety

A core principle behind all Pocketbook Brigade, Inc. and Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. As a host organization we insist that all participants in our event uphold this commitment. We recommend all participants review the Indivisible.org safety and security resource before our event at: https://indivisi.org/safety

We suggest you walk away from anyone who may be seeking to create a hostile environment or disrupt our march. If you can’t walk away we suggest you chant USA, USA, USA. Even though we may not agree with other Americans we know most Americans love our country. Chanting USA, USA, USA reminds everyone we are on the same team.

Please call, text or email cconrado@pocketbookbrigade.org if you are interested in volunteering as a crossing guard, crowd control marshal, hydration station attendant, volunteer EMT or certified first aide provider.

Accommodations for participants with mobility restrictions

Seating for those unable to march can be found at the Truist Bank at 4098 LaVista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084. Please bring your own lawn chair or wheelchair and a blanket to keep warm. This location also will function as a hydration station attendant. Beverages and snacks will be provided at our headquarters. We want to ensure everyone is well hydrated and not marching on an empty stomach. If it is a rainy day we will have free rain ponchos for the first 300 (three hundred) people to arrive. If it is cold we will have free hand warmers for the first 280 (two hundred and eighty) people to arrive. The route for the march has sidewalks along the entire route. The second (2nd) half of the march does have an uphill climb that may be difficult for anyone using a push wheelchair or using their own power to propel their wheelchair. Electric wheelchairs or scooters will probably be able to climb slowly up to the intersection of Northlake Parkway and Henderson Mill Rd.

Please use your own good judgement when considering to participating in this half (1/2) of the march. It may be in your best interest to:

·    cross LaVista Rd at the Parklake Dr. NE intersection

·    proceed back to the intersection of Henderson Mill Rd and LaVista Rd. via Parklake Dr NE

·    continue to intersection of Rangewood Dr NE

·    proceed on the through way behind Chick Fil A and Verizon wireless to the intersection of Henderson Mill Rd and LaVista Rd.
