Pocketbook Brigade August Zoom

Hi there,

You are invited to a Zoom meeting. August is usually the hottesct month of the year in Atlanta. This year seems Mother Nature and Father Time have things a little bit mixed up. Last week was unseasonably cooler than usual but, I think it’s safe to say we could all use a break from marching. Instead, we will have a zoom call this month to:

·    exchange ideas for future march themes

·    discuss volunteer opportunities - including opportunities to join our board of directors

·    Several people will talk about what motivates them to “make good trouble” and how it makes them feel empowered.

·    Several people will share how the current administration’s policies and executive orders have negatively impacted their lives and how they are coping.

If you would like to share your experience as a social / civic activist or how your life has been negatively impacted by the current administration’s policies and executive orders, on this Zoom call, please email: cconrado@pocketbookbrigade.org. There is a limited number of spaces available to speak and you will be limited to three (3) minutes for your share. Please send your email when you read this email or you may miss the opportunity to speak.

When: Aug 21, 2025, 07:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)

Why We Are Meeting

Up to this point the Board of Directors has been deciding which marches we participate in that promoted by other groups like Mobilize.us and Indivisible or if we host a march independently. We want to give our march members an opportunity to have a voice in what we do next for September. We also want to discuss how the presence of members of the Pocketbook Brigade at committee meetings at the capital can give us all a voice at the meetings. Our Board President, Christine Conrado Staskiewicz has attended several meetings (which are open to the public) and discovered that We The People don’t have a seat at the table. The committee meetings are for the most part attended by members of the press and lobbyists. We need to have private citizens at the committee meetings to ask questions, counter the lobbyist agendas and hold our government representatives accountable. We have no idea what our lawmakers are considering and how it can impact our lives.

What You Can Expect

You should expect an open forum to share ideas and experiences. If you want to share your experience with the group, please email: cconrado@pocketbookbrigade.org when you read this message. If you want to ask a question during the zoom meeting you will have the opportunity to ask your question.

Why Your Presence Matters

The Pocketbook Brigade was created so everyday Americans who disagree with the direction our country is taking can show their persistent resistance to the policies and executive orders of the current POTUS administration. We need to hear from you. We need your input, ideas and energy.

Please use the following information to register for the zoom call. We have a limit of 5,000 registrants so register when you read this message or you might miss the opportunity to be heard.
